Annual Events
4th of July Parade and Fireworks
Always on Fourth of July, open to the public!
Our town loves the Fourth of July and always goes all out with a noon parade running down Front Street- high school bands, local dance troops, tractors, bike riders, and the local skeleton in his transportation of choice.
End your evening with a fireworks show over at Gallants Channel to see Beaufort's fireworks right above you, and Morehead City and Atlantic Beach's shows in the distance!
Pirate Invasion
Usually first week or two in August, check website for up to date schedule!
The Pirate Invasion is a legendary annual event in downtown Beaufort full of pirate battles, ships, cannonfire, races, and treats for the family! Bring your best pirate outfits and come prepared to meet real pirates face to face!
Big Rock Fishing Tournament
Full Week in Early June
The Big Rock Billfish Fishing Tournament had humble beginnings with locals attempting to prove Billfish existed off the Morehead City coast, and now is a massive fishing tournament with wild cash prizes. It's always an exciting event with hundreds of fishing boats at the local marinas, and weigh-ins at Big Rock Landing!
Seafood Festival
First Weekend of October
This annual festival is designed to bring people to Beaufort during non-summer months, and raise funds for public schools, churches, and more while educating people about the Seafood Industry. This small-town festival has plenty of food and art vendors, rides, and entertainment for the whole family!
Christmas Parade and Flotilla
Weekend in early December.
The Christmas flotilla is an awesome lineup of local's boats lit up for the holidays. The boats travel down the Morehead waterfront, and then down Beaufort's front street. The best views are from the boardwalk, or aboard one of the boats!
